Project Highlights from Our Team’s Subcontracting Work
Buffer Tank installation
2 x 1000l buffer tanks installed by our team, Installation included new heat pump / chiller, new AHU coils and all CHW and HHW pipe work upsized to suit new flow requirements.
Gas boilers
Boilers supplied and fitted by A-mech.
On this project a 110kw Gas boiler installed and commissioned. Install including pump, expansion tank, mains water kit, acid neutraliser on condense line with pump. This was a retrofit at a cathedral down south, subcontracting to a company who installed full heating system including 50 radiators.
Plant room
Pump sets installed in this plant room fit out, install included 3 x new heat pumps located on the roof.
Pipe installations
Pipework done right - every time, every site, by our skilled team of subcontractors.
Pump set replacement
Pump set upgrade, previous system had been isolated for some time, pumps had seized. New pumps supplied and installed, including valve replacement, new strainers, C-flex's and none return valves.
Chiller replacement
Chiller replacement. Previous chiller decommissioned. New 4 pipe chiller installed and pipework upsized to meet flow rate requirements
Heat pumps and buffer tanks
System upgrade at Coles. AHU's HHW coils were previously fed off a very old and unreliable Raypak boiler and heat reclaim system. 4 x new efficient heat pumps installed and 5 x buffer tanks installed to distribute the weight of the water on the slab. installation also included new AHU coils with energy valves and upgrade of HHW and CHW pipework.
Coles HHW & CHW system upgrade
Installation included 2 x Meridian 150kw boilers, chiller, buffer tank and AHU's. HHW and CHW pipework upsized and relocated.

Meet the owners
Andy Spicer, Director.
Andy S began his mechanical plumbing apprenticeship in 2006 in England, and soon after qualifying, started running his own installation projects. During the winter months, he focused on service and maintenance work across commercial sites, which helped solidify his knowledge of HVAC systems. He later gained his commercial gas ticket and spent several years working as a boiler technician and gas engineer.
In 2018, Andy moved to Australia, working with Tier 1 mechanical plumbing companies in Sydney on both small and large projects. He then spent three years as NSW State Manager, delivering HVAC upgrades at supermarkets and managing service and reactive work on gas-fired equipment before returning to site work.
With years of technical knowledge, installation experience, and a keen eye for detail, Andy brings a ‘can do’ attitude, a positive outlook, and strong problem-solving skills to every job.

Andy Murray, Director.
Andy M began his mechanical plumbing apprenticeship in Scotland in 2003, starting out in shipyards where he installed and maintained a variety of complex systems. He later moved into site work, managing smaller installations before relocating to Australia in 2016.
Since then, he has worked on many large-scale projects across Sydney, leading major installations and coordinating teams for Tier 1 builders and developers. With over 20 years of industry experience, Andy brings strong technical expertise, forward thinking, and a proactive approach to every project. Always ten steps ahead, he thrives in fast-paced environments and is dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality, and cost-effective results.
